TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Last Updated: September 28, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Metal Object website, including all purchases, custom orders, design services, quote requests, and related transactions with Metal Object ("Metal Object," "we," "us," or "our").
By accessing our website, submitting an inquiry, requesting a quote, placing an order, making a payment, or otherwise engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Metal Object
Metal Object creates modern metal furniture, furnishings, and decorative objects that are made to order and may be customized according to the specifications of each project.
Our products may be available in a variety of dimensions, metals, materials, upholstery options, colors, and finishes. Because many of our products are individually fabricated, the final product may contain variations that are inherent to the materials and fabrication process.
2. Products and Custom Orders
All of Metal Object products are made to order rather than mass-produced or held in inventory.
Product photographs, renderings, drawings, dimensions, finish samples, and other representations shown on our website are intended to communicate the general design, material, finish, and character of a product. They may not represent the exact appearance of the final piece.
Custom orders may be produced according to specifications agreed upon in writing, including dimensions, materials, finishes, colors, upholstery, and other design details.
An inquiry, website submission, estimate, or quotation does not constitute an accepted order. An order becomes binding only after Metal Object has accepted the order and received the required deposit or payment.
3. Pricing and Quotes
Pricing is based on the specifications available at the time the quote is prepared.
Pricing may change if there are changes to dimensions, materials, finishes, quantities, design requirements, shipping requirements, installation requirements, or other project specifications.
Unless otherwise stated in writing, quotations are valid for 14 days from the date issued.
A final price will be confirmed before production begins.
Additional costs may apply for custom design work, revisions, special materials, expedited production, crating, shipping, freight, delivery, installation, storage, or other services not included in the original quotation.
4. Deposits and Payments
A deposit is required to initiate production unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Deposits are non-refundable.
The deposit reserves production time and may be used to purchase materials, allocate fabrication resources, initiate design or engineering work, and otherwise begin preparation of the order.
The remaining balance is due according to the payment schedule stated on the applicable invoice or order confirmation. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the final balance must be paid in full before shipment, delivery, or installation.
Metal Object reserves the right to suspend production, withhold shipment or delivery, or delay an order if payment is past due.
Any additional costs resulting from a customer-requested change after an order has been approved may be invoiced separately.
5. Design Approval
For custom orders, Metal Object may provide drawings, renderings, specifications, samples, or other design documentation for customer review and approval.
The customer is responsible for carefully reviewing and approving all applicable:
-
Dimensions
-
Materials
-
Finishes
-
Colors
-
Design details
-
Quantities
-
Product specifications
-
Site measurements provided by the customer
-
Delivery and installation requirements
Once specifications have been approved and production has begun, changes may not be possible.
If changes are accepted after approval, they may result in additional charges and an adjustment to the estimated production or delivery schedule.
Metal Object is not responsible for errors resulting from specifications, measurements, drawings, or other information supplied or approved by the customer.
6. Custom Dimensions and Specifications
Custom products may be produced in dimensions different from the standard dimensions shown on our website.
The customer is responsible for confirming that the selected dimensions are appropriate for the intended space and use.
Customers should verify doorways, hallways, elevators, stairways, ceilings, installation areas, and other site conditions before placing an order.
Metal Object is not responsible for additional costs associated with incorrect measurements, inadequate site access, or conditions that prevent delivery or installation of a product that was fabricated according to approved specifications.
7. Materials, Finishes, and Natural Variations
Metal Object uses materials and finishes that may naturally vary from one piece to another.
Variations in color, tone, texture, sheen, patina, grain, surface character, weld appearance, and other characteristics may occur.
Finish samples, photographs, website images, and digital renderings are intended as general representations and may not exactly match the finished product.
Certain finishes may develop additional character over time as a result of use, exposure, light, moisture, weather, cleaning, or other environmental conditions.
These variations are considered part of the character of handcrafted furnishings and are not necessarily considered defects.
8. Changes and Cancellations
Because Metal Object products are made to order and may be produced specifically for each customer, orders generally cannot be cancelled once production has begun.
If Metal Object agrees to a cancellation, any refund will be determined at Metal Object's discretion and may be reduced by amounts already incurred for materials, labor, design services, fabrication, finishing, shipping, administrative expenses, or other project-related costs.
Deposits remain non-refundable.
Customer-requested changes after an order has been approved may not be possible. If accepted, changes may result in additional charges and an extended production schedule.
9. Production and Lead Times
Estimated production and delivery dates are provided in good faith and are not guaranteed unless expressly agreed upon in writing.
Production timelines may vary depending on the complexity of the project, material availability, fabrication requirements, finishing requirements, workload, shipping, and other circumstances.
Metal Object is not responsible for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including material shortages, supplier delays, transportation delays, severe weather, natural disasters, labor disruptions, governmental actions, or other events beyond our control.
A delay does not automatically entitle a customer to cancel an order or receive a refund.
10. Shipping and Delivery
Shipping and delivery costs are calculated based on factors including final product dimensions, weight, quantity, destination, packaging or crating requirements, and delivery method.
Shipping costs may be quoted separately or included in the final order price.
Metal Object ships products domestically and internationally where available.
The customer is responsible for providing accurate shipping and delivery information.
Additional charges may apply for:
-

This includes confirming adequate clearance through:
-
Exterior doors
-
Interior doors
-
Hallways
-
Stairways
-

-

If installation is included in an order, the customer is responsible for ensuring that the installation site is reasonably accessible and ready for installation.
Unless expressly included in writing, electrical work, structural modifications, wall reinforcement, site preparation, permits, or other construction services are not included.
12. Inspection Upon Delivery
Customers should inspect all products promptly upon delivery.
If a product arrives with visible shipping damage, the customer should photograph the packaging and product and notify Metal Object as soon as reasonably possible.
Any damage, shortage, or apparent issue should be reported promptly, preferably within five (5) business days of delivery.
Customers should retain all original packaging and shipping materials until any potential shipping claim has been resolved.
For concealed damage or workmanship concerns discovered after delivery, customers should contact Metal Object promptly with photographs and a description of the issue so that the matter can be evaluated.
13. Returns and Refunds
Because our products are made to order and may be customized specifically for each customer, all custom and made-to-order purchases are final sale and are not eligible for return or exchange, except where otherwise required by applicable law or expressly agreed to by Metal Object in writing.
This policy applies to customized dimensions, materials, finishes, colors, upholstery, and other customer-specific modifications.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
14. Damage, Defects, and Workmanship
Metal Object takes care in the fabrication, finishing, packaging, and shipment of every piece.
If you believe a product has a manufacturing defect or workmanship issue, please contact us promptly with photographs and a detailed description of the issue.
Metal Object will review the claim and, where appropriate, may repair, replace, or otherwise remedy a verified manufacturing or workmanship issue at our discretion.
This does not include damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper installation, improper maintenance, modifications, normal wear and tear, environmental exposure, or use outside the intended purpose of the product.
15. Product Use and Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for using products appropriately and according to their intended purpose.
Metal Object is not responsible for damage or injury resulting from:
-
Improper use
-
Misuse or abuse

Customers are responsible for informing Metal Object of any unusual intended use or special performance requirements before production begins.
16. Customer-Supplied Materials and Information
If a customer supplies materials, dimensions, artwork, designs, drawings, photographs, logos, fabrics, finishes, or other materials, the customer represents that they have the right to provide and use those materials.
Metal Object is not responsible for infringement claims arising from customer-supplied intellectual property or materials.
Metal Object may rely upon information supplied or approved by the customer when producing a custom order.
